We all love a good celebrity story, especially when it’s questionable at best and just plain wrong at worst! At What To Ride, we’ve had a good laugh at some of the weird alterations for celebrities cars but also admired some of the cooler ones too! And who would we be if we didn’t share these unique customisations in our latest car stories?
This is definitely one we’ve had a good chuckle over! Canadian music producer and performer Deadmau5 caused a ruckus with his heavily customised Nyan Cat Ferrari 458 Spider. The famous 2011 YouTube video ‘Nyan Cat’ featuring a flying pixelated cat paired with a Japanese pop song was the inspo behind this beauty. However, even though Deadmau5 fans loved this car, Ferrari did not find it amusing in the slightest and sent a cease and desist letter which required the artist to remove the custom emblems.
Justin Bieber’s Audi R8 Leopard Print
You win some, you loose some. Leopard print has always been either loved or hated. However, it is clear that Justin Bieber has a special place in his heart for it stamping it all over an Audi R8. Some may love it; some may find it hard to look at it. We will let you decide!
Chris Brown’s Fighter Jet Lamborghini Gallardo
Does it drive or does it fly? This super car has an F-86 Sabre fighter jet theme, complete with specially painted on rivets! It even looks fast and some would love to cruise in this baby.
David Beckham’s Rolls Royce Phantom
Impressive 24-inch wheels, a black Spirit of Ecstasy, a multi-media entertainment unit and Beckham’s number ’23’ embroidered on the seats. This is one of the sleeker customisations worth an ogle! It’s a loud one too, packing a V12, 6.7 litre engine with 452 horsepower capable of reaching 241km/hr. However, Beckham sold it in 2012 for 250K. Kudos to the lucky sod driving it now!
Flo Rida’s Gold Bugatti Veyron
Although painting an irrefutably cool car like the Bugatti Veyron gold sounds good, it perhaps isn’t the best idea. For this car doesn’t need to be customised- it’s already one of the greats with its notably famous speed, price and sleek design. Even though gold is a representation of wealth and power, there’s no need to flaunt it on a car that already symbolizes those very same things- that’s just overkill!
Justin Bieber’s Chrome Fisker Karma
Justin Bieber strikes again this time with a car that is impossible to look at; especially on a sunny day. Aiming to blind all other drivers, The Biebs added a chrome finish to his Fisker which was a birthday gift given to him on the Ellen DeGeneres show.
Paris Hilton’s Bentley GT Continental
For all those who still remember Paris Hilton would also know this is classic her! Paris’s childhood dreams of being the real life Barbie brought the idea of this pimped out in pink Bentley. Decked out in pink not only on the outside but also on the inside complete with a pink steering wheel. It’s most certainly impossible to question where this inspiration came from.
