Calling all Ute lovers! The new Toyota HiLux is looking bold and tough after its global debut. The Toyota HiLux has been a bestselling car for a long time running in the Australian new car market and it is indeed Australia’s favourite Ute. Toyota have delivered major improvements all in order to reach new heights in Ute performance, durability, comfort, fuel efficiency, and towing capacity. The new Toyota HiLux hit the Australian showrooms in late August this year.
The latest car news that important improvements to the 2.8-litre turbo diesel engine have been made. The new Toyota HiLux model will produce 150kW of power with an 11% increase in torque reaching 500Nm. The new Toyota HiLux range will still have the 2.4-litre turbo-diesel and the 2.7-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and will also have 4×2 and 4×4 drive. No changes to the beloved body style of this new Ute have been seen and they still come in single, extra and double cabs. Also, the same variants as the current model of Toyota Hilux are available (Workmate, SR, SR5, Rogue and Rugged X).
Toyota is also promising a more Ute comfortable ride in the new Toyota HiLux, which will be similar to an SUV. Toyota improved the suspension and shock absorber, and tuned the leaf-spring design with no compromise to the legendary off road capabilities of this pickup the Toyota HiLux. The towing capacity for the automatic 4WD Toyota HiLux has been increased to match the manual variant and tows up to 3,500kg.
